…OF… MTB Event: 9th Feb.

February 7th, 2008

Well here it it has happened again!Three days out from our first event of 08 and it has not stopped raining on the track, nor does it seem it will with rain and storms forecast right up until Sunday and maybe beyond.

Now while there is nothing at all wrong with riding in the wet, raining or not, some might know all too well that Killi is renowned for many things, two of which are a fire road that is not that great in dry weather, un-negotiable in the wet, and sandy + clay based conditions, meaning it will be a bog fest which will eat your drive train on the first lap. As the Newcastle area has received somewhat more rain than Sydney, we know that the track conditions will be swampy and with more rain to come over the next few days, probably totally rubbish.

As such, HMBA and ourselves have had several discussions about what the best option might be for riders, ourselves and bikes/cars and have made the unfortunate decision that we will have to postpone the even until: Saturday the 15th of March (which does not seem to conflict with any other event).

Whilst this is a total drag for everyone, we are offering several options to all who have entered to help ease the disappointment:

1. If you can make the new date, see you there and we will discount your team entry into the ‘12 Hours …OF… Darkness’ by 10%. Do nothing more.

2. If you can’t, you can carry over your entry into the ‘12 Hours …OF… Darkness’, just let us know.

3. If you’re just not interested, we’ll refund your money in full, within two weeks after the rescheduled event as per our terms and conditions. Again, let us know.

We are really sorry about having to do this so close into the event but the mighty heavens it seems stop for no one… not that there is anything wrong at all with this cool weather and wetness.

We all hope to see you at the new date or at the ‘12 Hours …OF… Darkness’.

Best regards,

BSI and HMBA.

PS: Any questions email us on event and if you know people that wanted to come but couldn’t, tell them they now can!

André Michelle is a man with a lot of time on his hands. Tie that with the fact that he’s an excellent Flash programmer and you know that it can only lead to trouble.

On his site he has recreated and developed some of the greatest way for you to kill the office hours while becoming the dance club DJ of your dreams.

Here’s an interesting thing to do and just goes to show how web based ‘communities’ work so well…

“Picture Australia is calling all image makers to Re-Picture Australia! We have a selection of public domain images from our participants, ready for you to download, mash-up and reload with new meaning into Picture Australia via this flickr group. Artworks licensed with a suitable Creative Commons, may be included in a promotional DVD during the Vivid National Photography Festival in 2008.”
