November 19th, 2007

We stumbled on this in our travels through the web and just rediscovered it…. a physical representation of Photoshop. We are thinking this would look the goods in a large gallery space.

2007 LA Motor Show

November 18th, 2007

“The final version of the Volt won’t look like the concept. In the wind tunnel it was a cruel disappointment. We probably would’ve gotten a better drag coefficient if we put it in the wind tunnel backwards.”

Bob Lutz, VC Product Development, GM

Make it BIGGER!!!!

November 15th, 2007

MMLB

The frustration of every designer is the client who wants the logo bigger, less ‘white space’ and generally just crap graphics in the hope that all of that will deliver their brand message. Yea, right! Maybe back in the 50’s but even then we doubt it.

Check, check, check it out here……

Convergence

November 13th, 2007

There seems to be a lot of it going on out there in technology land but in ways that seem unpredictable. As we mentioned before, the BBC teamed up with Sony to bring its legendary show, Top Gear to the PS3’s Gran Tourismo 5, including live action feed via Gran Tourismo TV.

Well, Mazda went over to Facebook and asked Facebook users to submit concept sketches for its 2008 Mazda 3. Today Mallory McMorrow was announced as the winner of the competition and his concept will be turned into reality (of sorts) at the LA Motor show as it’s sculpted from clay… live.

We think this is only the start of something that will take the viewing and interacting world through a pretty wild journey as tangental uses are found to mix technologies and create greater reach for individuals and companies alike.

We would give you a link to see what’s what, but Facebook being Facebook, you have to login to see anything. Something we think is a downfall with the system. If you have an account and want to see the shizzle, click here and follow the ‘Shape Mazda’s Future on Facebook’ link though.

Sydney’s Sculpture By The Sea

November 10th, 2007

For two weeks each year at this time, Sydney hosts ‘Sculpture By The Sea’, an expose for many artists stretching several kilometers along the coast. A bigger than ‘Ben Hur’ showcase for many artists, the most interesting aspect is that it is an excellent undertaking in ‘experience’, as walking the path from Bronte to Bondi becomes an exercise in surprise and ability to get up close and personal with things that are usually behind rope in galleries. While an exhibition like this could be somewhat dry and predictable, walking the path reveals something new at each bend or staircase and most interestingly, some of the pieces are seen from one direction but not the other.
