Make it BIGGER!!!!

November 15th, 2007

MMLB

The frustration of every designer is the client who wants the logo bigger, less ‘white space’ and generally just crap graphics in the hope that all of that will deliver their brand message. Yea, right! Maybe back in the 50’s but even then we doubt it.

Still, it’s out there and ‘Make My Logo Bigger Cream’ is just the thing every such client needs!

Check, check, check it out here……

Japanese craftsmanship…

November 8th, 2007

We’ve been pondering whether to post this or not but decided it’s too damn cool not to.

We always harp on about quality, craftsmanship and doing things that actually means something to someone. So when we find a company like Balmuda out of Japan, it gives us that little tingle because it’s a little bit of ‘old school’ in an age of mass plastic fantastic.

Bordbar….. who would have thunk it?

November 8th, 2007

One has to admire lateral thinking and we love the idea of recycling. When you see something like this you realise that the whole recycle thing is just starting, all it takes are people to start thinking about things differently.

Bordbar takes the humble, used, airline food trolly warts and all, and recycles them to become a rather useful bit of furniture. Select from their range of graphics (or supply your own), then configure it with draws and shelfs, the Bordbar trolly could be just the thing to fill that difficult corner and being on wheels, you can shunt it around where you need it.

It’s a very clever use of something that otherwise might end up in a scarp yard, which would be a waste of the energy and resources that went into making it in the first place.

Check out Bordbar for more.

It’s all about individuality

ccphone.jpg

Call it a mass market backlash, a reaction to having the same stuff no matter how much it cost, than everyone else, but there is an ever growing trend, desire even, to be custom. From uber expensive small label jeans, to blinged cars, there is a growing sector of the market that doe not wan to be off the shelf, for all the obvious reasons.

So it should come as no surprise that Tobias Wong, for CITIZEN:citizen, has created the fantastically limited edition ccPhone….. a custom blinged out iPhone. Limited to only 50 world wide and with a price tag of US2k, you’re going to feel pretty damn special with one of these in your pocket. What’s so spesh about thisAs well as the new case, the ccPhone comes with selected software, music and wallpaper art….

The Military Aesthetic

October 24th, 2007

The largest industry in the world is the military; it seems that we humans are very good at spending large amounts of money and energy finding new ways to kill one another. What’s more, some of mankind’s greatest achievements come directly off the back of military development and some might argue that if it were not for World War Two, we might not be where we are technologically today. A new phone! Sony Ericsson W880i

October 18th, 2007

For several years we have been using a Motorola as the phone while on the move (well that and a Nokia, but that was not replaced). Finally though, its junk interface and keys designed for people with less than normal hands, demanded replacing before I lost my mind totally. Read the rest of this entry »
