And the French can do it right
July 17th, 2007
Peugeot debut this concept called the Quark in 2004 and it seems several years on it still looks the goods (not so hard to believe when you think that the French have been long time pioneers/leaders in automotive desgin and are the world’s greatest nutters). In a world where bigger cars on the road not only drink more of the dwindling black gold but pose an increasing threat to the safety of other road users and the road furfaces themselves, an urban ‘ATV’ concept is a titillating idea, especially for those out there that have a phobia of two wheels with engines more powerful than their Barina (read, Corsa in Europe).
While the idea does not address getting wet, something sure to shock the prissy types out there, I think ideas like this are holding increasing merit. From the way I see it, I’d prefer to be one one of these in the middle of Sydney peak hour than a Vespa (which BTW I, if they are the real original deal, think are cool), especially if it’s dirt cheap to run and gives me that bit more road presence than the aforementioned Italian jalopy.
Of course it does not hold as much appeal as this:
But has a hell of a lot more than this (which if you don’t know is the BMW C1):
