We are very open with what we do, how we do it and why, so if you have a question, concern, idea or any other sort of thing you’d like to talk to us about please don’t hesitate to email us (HQ-frontdesk [at] lab-gear.com).

Policies

We make sure that the quality of Lab-Gear is 100% so that it will last. But we acknowledge that very, very occasionally things slip through and you get something that is not quite right.

So:

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, any conditions or warranties imposed or implied by law are hereby excluded. Consumers never the less have the full benefit of rights or remedies pursuant to the Trade Practices Act or relevant State or Territory laws in Australia, in respect of which liability may not be excluded. Insofar as such liability may not be excluded, then to the maximum extent permitted by laws, such liability is limited at the exclusive option of Lab-Gear, to either (a) replacement of the goods or (b) correction of defects in the goods or (c) payment of the cost of having defects in the goods corrected.

What does that mean?

If you receive a top that has been damaged in transit in some way, or when you put it on some stitching comes undone when it should not have, or the zipper gets stuck forever trapping you in the top, then we’ll replace, repair or refund your money at our discretion. We won’t refund you if you stuff it up through misuse, set it on fire or if your dog eats it. If you’re in doubt, contact us and we’ll discuss it with you to make sure.

Our warranty is good for 90 days from time of purchase for products ‘On the Rack’. For Meccanica items our ’6/3′ guarantee applies – the warranty period is 6 months on all workmanship used to assemble the product, and a 3 month guarantee on the materials used in making it.

If you have a warranty claim, please contact us within the relevant warranty period.

Returns

If you have a return, please contact us immediately and request a return number.

If you buy one of our ‘Single Serve’ (pre-made) items and realise that it does not fit because you bought a size too small or a size too big, drop us a line and let us know. We’ll either replace your item with the correct size in the same or another colour/pattern, or refund your money 100% (you can expect a refund to your credit card within 14 days of our receiving your return). Just make sure that we receive the unused item within 30 days of purchase.

We don’t charge any restocking fees and customers are responsible for shipping costs unless the product is defective or an error has occurred when filling the order.

If you bought a Meccanica item which was made to your specifications, and you ordered the incorrect size or you don’t like the colours you chose, unfortunately we cannot provide you with a refund – we can’t be held responsible for your choices! On the other hand if there is a manufacturing fault or an obvious problem with the construction of the product please contact us to let us know ASAP and we’ll sort something out. If returning the item just make sure that we receive it, unused, within 30 days of purchase. Again, customers are responsible for shipping costs unless the product is defective or an error has occurred when filling the order.

Payment gateway

Please note that our PayPal processing system accepts Visa and Mastercard. If you hold a PayPal account already, you may opt to pay via your PayPal account or through your bank account via PayPal.

If you are within Australia, we also accept Direct Bank Deposit. To use this, please follow the instructions at the checkout stage when ordering.

Ordering and shipping

All Lab-Gear products are listed in Australian Dollars. We process Meccanica orders every Tuesday at 12pm (Approx. Monday 9pm EST in the US and Tuesday 1am, London) and the time taken to make your order will be in accordance with the listed ‘Build Time’. We reserve the right to extend the ‘Build Time’ without notice according to how busy we become or to allow for circumstances beyond our control such as holidays, sickness etc. In such instances we will inform you via email. ‘Single Serve’ (pre-made) orders are processed as they come in, usually within 3 working days.

If you have ordered a ‘Single Serve’ item it will be removed instantly from the stock count. It is near impossible to order something online that is not in stock. If by some miracle you have, we will contact you ASAP.

Please note that Lab-Gear is not responsible for any duties or taxes that may be applied to your order on arrival in your country. In Australia all prices include GST.

Our shipping costs are based on the weight of your order, as that’s the way the postal system works. Below are the current prices for shipping your Lab-Gear order to your location…

Shipping to locations within Australia via Regular Australia Post (non trackable)*:

  • 1 - 250g: AU$5
  • 251g - 500g: AU$7
  • 501g - 1kg: AU$14
  • 1kg - 2kg: AU$18

Shipping to locations within Australia via Australia Post Platinum Express (trackable – recommended for fastest and safest delivery)*:

  • 1 - 0.5kg: AU$13
  • 0.51kg - 3kg: AU$16
  • 3.1kg+: AU$25

Shipping to overseas locations via Australia Post International Airmail (7-14 days – non trackable)**:

  • 1g - 250g: AU$12.50
  • 250g - 0.5kg: AU$21
  • 0.51kg - 1kg: AU$29.50
  • 1.1kg - 1.49kg: AU$36
  • 1.5kg+: AU$50

Shipping to overseas locations via Australia Post Registered International Airmail (3-10 days –signature required on delivery**):

  • 1-500g: AU$25
  • 1g - 750g: AU$34
  • 751g - 1.25kg: AU$49
  • 1.25kg - 2kg: AU$70

Shipping to overseas locations via Australia Post International Express Airmail (3-5 days – fully trackable):

  • AU$50/kg

* Local orders over $150 are shipped via Australia Post Platinum Express.

** International orders over $150 are shipped Registered International Airmail.

Has my order shipped?

You will receive a shipping confirmation notice via email when your order has left our hands. If you have not received an email within a few days after the allotted build time for your item has passed, please contact us.

My order never arrived

We make every effort to make sure your product is well packaged and safely delivered to you (based on your choice of shipping option). In the unlikely event where an item does not arrive to you please contact us ASAP.

How can I get a copy of my invoice?

We do not include paper invoices in shipped packages. To obtain a print out of your invoice, log into the customer login to view and print out any order you have made with us. To do this, click the ‘My Account’ button and follow the prompts.

Timing of billing

Your credit card is charged when you place your order and stock orders ship within three days of us receiving your order. Meccanica orders will ship within the respective listed time frames.

Is your site secure?

We make every effort to protect your personal information. Any page at Lab-Gear.com that asks you for personal information is highly secure. Our secure server protects your information using advanced encryption and firewall technology throughout the entire ordering process. Most browsers will show a lock icon in the bottom status bar on secure pages that tells you our SSL certificate is current and functioning. Look for this icon on any web page that asks for your personal information. To further ensure your security, we use state-of-the-art SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption to protect your personal information from unauthorized use.

No person, at any point of your buying transaction, sees or handles your credit card details. We use PayPal exclusively to transact all card based sales as it offers superior security for you the customer and us, the seller. The only information that is stored is that pertaining to the billing and delivery address related to your purchase.
