Benchmark Sizing

Sometimes, it’s best to take the easy road!

If you are just not sure about your size, or are going for a ‘Custom Fitting‘, use this system for measuring your favorite, best fitting garment. We’ll use the numbers you give us to cross reference against our own charts to find the best fit for you. Our Benchmark sizing service does not cost any extra unless we find you need a ‘Custom Fitting‘.

To obtain the measurements, lay the garment nice and flat, front up, and using a tape measure or a straight edge ruler, measure the following dimensions based on the diagrams provided:

Tops

Chest: Across the chest from arm pit to arm pit, where the sleeves join the body.

Arm: Measure down the OUTSIDE of the arm from where the collar joins the body to the end of the sleeve.

Shoulder [Used for jackets]: From the top of where sleeve attaches to the body and across the body.

Side: From the point where the sleeve joins the body (same point as the chest measurement) down the side to the hem.

Waist [Used for women's tops]: Mid way from the chest to the hem, across the body.

Hem: Width of the body at the hem.

Bottoms

Waist Band: At the base of the waistband, measure the flat distance from side to side. If possible, measure all the way around as well - side to side should be pretty much be half of all the way around if you’ve measured correctly.

Rise: Right down the centre line of the pants, measure from the base of the waist band to the end of seam in the crotch of the pants.

Side: From the base of the waistband, measure the outside length to the end of the pant leg.

Mid Thigh: Halfway down the inseam (the inside of the leg, bottom of crotch to end of pant), measure the width.

Hem: From side to side of the leg opening.
