As we’ve mentioned here previously, NewWebPick publishes a great and rather worthwhile electronic magazine.
Today they just released issue 14, which is well worth looking into, if you have not already. And for USD$1.95, it’s not really even worth debating giving it a go (though they do release a free ‘lite’ version, if that’s too much cash for you).
[See it, and the other back issues here]

Some of the Bomb Squad Industries crew work quite a bit in the area of Spatial Design, usually connected with retail or marketing. Without fail though, it is working in this capacity where we find the greatest lack of understanding or confusion about just what it is designers in this field actually do. (more…)

Finding a solution to light a space in such a way as to create mood and ambiance, while still wanting to have cool things on walls such as graphics is quite often a challenge. True ambient mood lighting often makes it hard to see graphics and when there is enough light to read the graphics, the mood can be lost.
Jonas Samson has a cool solution that combines wallpaper and light to create the best of both worlds and if viable give us more than a few ideas for project use.

Definitely cool with a world of possibility for those difficult interior spaces we all have to deal with from time to time.

The frustration of every designer is the client who wants the logo bigger, less ‘white space’ and generally just crap graphics in the hope that all of that will deliver their brand message. Yea, right! Maybe back in the 50’s but even then we doubt it.
Still, it’s out there and ‘Make My Logo Bigger Cream’ is just the thing every such client needs!
Check, check, check it out here……

One has to admire lateral thinking and we love the idea of recycling. When you see something like this you realise that the whole recycle thing is just starting, all it takes are people to start thinking about things differently.

Bordbar takes the humble, used, airline food trolly warts and all, and recycles them to become a rather useful bit of furniture. Select from their range of graphics (or supply your own), then configure it with draws and shelfs, the Bordbar trolly could be just the thing to fill that difficult corner and being on wheels, you can shunt it around where you need it.
It’s a very clever use of something that otherwise might end up in a scarp yard, which would be a waste of the energy and resources that went into making it in the first place.
Check out Bordbar for more.

For over seven years we worked creating digital montages for architecture offices in order for them to convey what they are doing to clients, councils and courts. For better or worse we were pretty damn good at it and could create montages that looked like photographs. We knew all the tricks and developed some of our own that would fool the observer into believing that what they were looking at was actually a real photograph. (more…)
