It is not about copying to keep up with everyone else.

GTO was borne out of the desire to design and create kit that is unique and uncompromising in its individuality.

Those who appreciate this are rewarded with something that we feel is special on many different levels. It makes us, and hopefully those that choose it, feel very good about what we make.

How did it start?

When the crew from Sydbma (Sydney Bicycle Messenger Association) came and asked us if we’d make them some Merino jerseys, we decided ‘hell yeh!’ and kicked GTO from being an idea to a reality.

GTO evolved on the idea that instant gratification isn’t always that gratifying. ‘Push a button and it’s yours’, is over-rated when it comes to certain aspects of life. What is wrong with waiting for something that’s special and a whole lot unique?

We embraced ways of making kit for you that is made to order only - totally old-school. What you order is not ‘shelf‘ and variety will come by changing what we offer through the seasons. This allows us to keep it fresh, and evolve.

No two runs will ever be the same!

How does it work?

GTO is offered to those that have signed up to the Lab-Gear email newsletter only (so make sure you’re on our mailing list). At the start of each ‘release date’ we send a newsletter which notifies you we are taking orders for the kit in that particular period. There will be a link that guides you to the order page where you can order the GTO offerings and pay a 50% deposit (the order period is open for about two weeks). After this time the offer is closed and we start making your kit. When we finish your piece it will be ready to ship (usually in around a month). You will be notified it’s ready to go and asked to pay the balance and away your order goes.
