: Weekend testingSweet, sweet single-track. It was one of those great long weekends here. So pack the car and head south for some riding…
Of course, we arrive, it’s cold and raining and the ride is canceled, so off to lunch and the gallery for coffee. Not a great way to do some official testing of new product. Luckily, the Sunday cleared up to a fantastic day and after a casual morning, I worked out a plan to hit some singletrack late afternoon before dinner so off I went.
While it was only an hour’s worth, and the first 10 minutes of that was spent wrestling the lunch in my belly and warming up by riding up hill, once I hit the first section (read all a little ugly), it was all so very good for the remaining 50 minutes. Swooping, flowing, fast roller-coaster riding was a good, smile inducing time. And what about the testing? Well, I’ll write about that this week but all went well, though I did realise that a 160mm rotor is not enough to totally pull up my arse in the manner I am accustomed to with a 180.
I also made some mental design notes that validate some geometry changes we made to the new Mountain Cycle frames late last week.
More soon…
